Quite often, when connecting to these AP's, your device will get an IP in the wrong subnet. "The wireless router currently uses a private WAN IP address. I just setup an Asus RT-N66U wireless router with an IP address of 192.168.1.3. After I got it working, I connected it downstream from a TL-R600VPN router, disabled its DHCP and then changed it (Asus router) to function as an access point. The (Asus) device works fine as an access point with all my Apple devices connected to it wirelessly. I am wanting to use the ASUS RT-N56U as an access point, i have the 'RT-N56U_3.4.3.9-097_base.trx' installed. As soon as i enable the Access Point mode for the router im unable to connect to the routers GUI menu via the IP address anymore, the router doesn't even show up if i use a program like 'Advanced IP Scanner'.
